In a major boost to connectivity, Jalandhar is all set to get its renovated airport in Adampur. After years and months of demand to operationalize Adampur Airport to boost Jalandhar's connectivity with other states, it is soon going to be a reality. Jalandhar Lok Sabha MP Sushil Rinku has been overseeing the developments of Adampur Airport ever since he came to power. As per reports, MP Sushil Rinku announced that flight services from Adampur Airport will start on March 2, 2024. Furthermore, Rinku revealed that the Adampur Airport will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

 

While sharing this information, MP Sushil Rinku reportedly said that this will be a big benefit not only to the people of Jalandhar but also to the people of the entire Doaba region. He said that the first flight would be started by Star One company, after which flights will continue to run continuously from here.

 

MP Rinku said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate many domestic airports across the country on March 2, which includes Adampur Airport. He stated that the civil terminal of this airport has been constructed for Rs 125 crore, in which good facilities have been ensured from all sides. He said that the Doaba region is famous as an NRI hub and industrial city, and air connectivity with big cities from here is very important.

 

MP Rinku further said that flights from here were stopped for a long time and now a new terminal has also been built. Recently, the Civil Aviation Ministry told MP Rinku that routes from Adampur to Hindon, Sri Nanded Sahib, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Goa have been allotted to various airlines, which will soon start flight service from the Adampur Airport.
