Lucknow police arrested an under secretary-level officer at Bapu Bhavan, named Ichharam Yadav who is posted with the minority welfare department after a video of him molesting a contractual worker went viral on social media.
The video that went viral was recorded by the victim herself, after being harassed and molested by the under secretary several times since 2018. She alleged that she was threatened with being removed from the job if she complained about it. In the video, Yadav can be seen forcing himself on the victim as she tries to shove him away.
With the evidence that consisted of multiple videos of such incidents, the victim complained to the Hussainganj police station on October 29. According to her the police failed to make an arrest as Yadav being an under secretary, was well connected. Tired of inaction by the police, she shared the video on social media that went viral.

As per Khyati Garg, ADCP Central, police registered a case on October 29 and are investigating it. “The woman was called a few times to record her statement. After recording the statements and examining the evidence from both parties, action will be taken,” he said.
