Since you have landed on this page, True Scoop News assumes you have already watched Griselda on Netflix and have multiple questions related to it especially about Jorge 'Rivi' Ayala-Rivera's phone scandal or Rivi's real-life phone scandal. Below is everything you need to know about Jorge 'Rivi' Ayala-Rivera's phone affair scandal with two secretaries of Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office.

Who was Jorge 'Rivi' Ayala-Rivera?

Jorge 'Rivi' Ayala-Rivera was the top hitman of Griselda Blanco aka The Godmother. Jorge 'Rivi' Ayala-Rivera was arrested for an assassination attempt on 'Chucho', Griselda's other bodyguard. It was Griselda who ordered Jorge 'Rivi' Ayala-Rivera to kill Chucho as he slapped her son Dixon and turned him away when cops were behind him due to a trivial brawl in a nightclub. While Chucho escaped the assassination attempt, Rivi mistakenly shot down Chucho's two-year-old son. It was the killing of Chucho's son that ultimately brought down Griselda Blanco's drug empire in Miami.

While at first Jorge 'Rivi' Ayala-Rivera was keeping Griselda's children safe, the Miami Police as shown in the movie flashed a news saying that he kidnapped Griselda's children. Finally, when Rivi turned himself into the US police, he agreed to testify against Griselda which the Miami Police always wanted. As a result, Jorge 'Rivi' Ayala-Rivera became the prime witness in Griselda Blanco's case. In 1993, Ayala was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years.

At first, it seemed Griselda Blanco would spend the rest of her life in jail due to her top hitman's testimony, later the case imploded when it was found out that Rivi was having 'phone affair' with two female secretaries in the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office. Rivi's phone scandal made his testimony not reliable and therefore, Griselda was freed after spending some years in Jail. Netflix's movie Griselda has showcased that it was always Jorge 'Rivi' Ayala-Rivera's plan to free Griselda from jail. Griselda's attorney stated that Rivi had said you are welcome, it means, the hitman knew what he was doing.

Who were the secretaries accused of a 'phone affair' with Jorge 'Rivi' Ayala-Rivera?

As per a US media report, Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle suspended Ms.Rossbach and two other secretaries - Raquel Navarro and Barbara Abad - over allegations they had taken part in a phone affair with a federal prisoner & convicted killer Jorge Ayala. Interestingly, the report is no longer available on Newswire AP. However, an old report says that  Rossbach, a secretary in the office for 19 years, returned to the office even though she was being offered all back pay and the full restoration of her benefits. It is pertinent to mention here that Ayala reportedly gave a two-page sworn statement saying Ms. Rossbach never engaged in explicit phone conversations with him.
