Harry-Styles Harry-Styles-eternals Oscar-winner-Chlo-Zhao

The Marvel Cinematic Universe tries to keep its secrets close to its heart, but Harry Styles is said to appear in a post-credit scene of Eternals, which opens on Friday and is directed by Oscar winner Chloé Zhao. The vocalist of "Watermelon Sugar" is said to be Eros, a character whose superpower is the capacity to excite the pleasure centres of those within 25 feet of him. And fans know that shouldn't have any trouble getting into character.

Styles is destined to Hollywood, and I mean that in the greatest conceivable sense. He's also brilliantly cast as the titular British officer in the film version of Bethan Roberts' beautiful-yet-tortured novel My Policeman, with whom people of all genders and sexualities (including The Crown's Emma Corrin) fall madly in love. Styles will also act opposite Florence Pugh in the 1950s-era psychological thriller Don't Worry Darling, directed by his girlfriend Olivia Wilde and set for release in September 2022, as most sentient people knows about this.

The anticipation is growing, and the big question is whether Harry Styles can act?  For answers, True Scoop brings different films of Styles in thespian mode. Continue reading to know more.

Dunkirk (2017)

We hardly noticed Styles film debut in Christopher Nolan's World War II epic in cinemas. However, upon closer inspection, Styles appears in a significant amount of this tense film. Alex, a fierce soldier trapped on Dunkirk Beach, plays a minor but important role: In a picture with little conversation, he has more than 30 lines without much dialogue.

Alex is charged with sussing out the motives of possibly shady troops while avoiding death by drowning on many occasions. With a mouth packed with bread and jam, Styles nails his casually inquisitive opening line—"What's wrong with your friend?" Styles is skilled at staring pensively into the horizon.

According to USA Today, Harry contributed “a startling amount of grit and pathos” to the film. Regardless of whether he's drenched, filthy, or soaking up the sun on a train ride home, the camera adores him. Styles "may well have another viable professional choice," according to the Associated Press.

Saturday Night Live (2019)

Giving the opening monologue at SNL is one of the rare entertainment trials by fire. As a musical guest with One Direction in 2017, Styles produced a truly funny impression of Mick Jagger; that amuse-bouche boded well for his ability to carry the iconic late-night programme as both host and musical guest during the Fine Line promotional tour two years later. Styles, who is used to MSG and the O2, turned SNL into a cosy piano bar, making jokes like Simon Cowell hatching One Direction from a test tube. He was witty, dry, and self-effacing, and he seemed to be at ease in his own skin. Is Harry Styles capable of portraying a caricature of himself?

Styles went on to play a variety of characters, including an overgrown Newsie, Aidy Bryant's dream dog-boyfriend, and an awkward Sara Lee social-media manager caught commenting "wreck me daddy" on Nick Jonas' Instagram while signed into the brand's account. Either I'm crazy about him or Harry Styles is a born comedian.

The Don’t Worry Darling teaser trailer (2021)

Also known as the 11 seconds of fame that inspired many hours of forensic investigation. Just ask Lizzo, Styles' friend. According to an official description, Pugh plays a "1950s housewife living with her husband in a utopian experimental community" who "begins to wonder that his beautiful company may be hiding sinister truths" in the creepy, Stepford-style teaser. What Styles does provide the audience is an open-mouth kiss that may be interpreted in a variety of ways: hot, clumsy, disturbing, or all of the above.

Gucci’s The Beloved Show (2021)

Theatrical releases are fine and dandy, but Harry's appearance in Gucci's retro talk show as an ad campaign is one of the favourite Styles appearances to date: the way he widens his eyes in exaggerated interest, like any good, overly effusive guest in the hot seat.

Theatrical releases are fine and dandy, but Harry's appearance in Gucci's retro talk show as an ad campaign is one of the favourite Styles appearances to date: the way he widens his eyes in exaggerated interest, like any good, overly effusive guest in the hot seat; his wry, unmoving expression as he spars with James Corden! Styles' pitch-perfect, somewhat psychopathic chuckle at the climax, which evokes Leonardo DiCaprio's performance in Wolf of Wall Street, is the best part. Is it possible that Harry Styles will win an Oscar for something other than best song?

“Harry Styles Does Mundane Things” (2021)

Styles recently offered his star power to a series of videos for Stand Up to Cancer in which he performs mundane duties like ironing and diligently maintaining a bonsai tree, proving that he is not only a rising actor but also a genuine treasure. Harry Styles has a quiet seriousness when it comes to brewing a cup of tea. Styles can—and will—act after spending many hours refining his craft.
