The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued a notice to the government regarding the security of churches in Punjab. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has been asked to provide a status report to the High Court regarding the church security arrangements. A few days ago, some people vandalized the church in Tarn Taran during the night. Later, the priest's car was also burnt. National Christian League and Sukhjinder Singh of Chandigarh petitioned the High Court in opposition to this.

According to a petition submitted to the High Court, communal riots may occur in Punjab if the police do nothing. Following the incident at Tarn Taran Church, the Christian fraternity feels insecure. They had asked the Punjab Police and the government for guidance on how to defend churches and Christian unity.
