The Punjab and Haryana High Court has reserved the verdict on the bail of veteran Akali leader former minister Bikram Majithia. Earlier there was an argument between the lawyers of both sides. Majithia's lawyers said that he has been implicated in this case due to political rivalry. After the completion of the debate, the High Court reserved the decision.

A drug case has been registered against Majithia. Presently he is lodged in Patiala Central Jail. This is being heard by a High Court double bench. Gainev Kaur Majithia, his MLA wife, is also present at the hearing in the High Court. So far, two judges have abstained from hearing him due to personal reasons. Majithia has been in jail since February 24.

A few months back, he had gone to the Supreme Court to get the drugs case dismissed. The Supreme Court then asked him to move to the High Court. The Chief Justice of the High Court constituted a bench of Justice AG Masih and Justice Sandeep Moudgil, of these, Justice Masih refused to hear.
