During the quarantine session, Virat Kohli took his Instagram handle to answer the questions of his fans. Virat posted, “In Quarantine… ask me your questions, let’s go.”
One of the fans asked, “What is the meaning of Vamika? How is she? Can we see a glimpse of her please?”
Virat then explained the meaning of the word and revealed that why Vamika’s photos and videos are not on social media. Virat said, “Vamika is another name of goddess Durga. No, we as a couple have decided not to expose our child to social media before she has an understanding of what social media is and can make her own choices.”
Vamika was born on 11th January, four months back at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. The news was shared by Virat on social media and appealed to respect privacy. Virat and Anushka also wrote and letter to the paparazzi and said, “We make a simple appeal to you. We want to protect our child’s privacy and need your help and support. We the same time, assure that you will get enough content to feature on us. At the same time, we are also urging you not to publish content related to our daughter.”

The first glimpse of the baby daughter was shared on February 1 on Anushka’s Instagram handle. While posting the picture Anushka captioned it, “We were living with love and gratitude, but little Vamika has brought us to a different level. Tears, laughter, anxiety, ultimate happiness ... we have experienced all these emotions for a moment. I did it. We are sleepy, but our hearts are full. Thank you for all your prayers. "
