High Court asked for a backup plan if electricity workers go on strike again; Chandigarh DC presented the affidavit in court

DC VP Singh on Thursday during the hearing in Punjab and Haryana High Court submitted the affidavit. The DC said that a police investigation is going on regarding the power supply incident. The police have already obtained the CDRs of mobile phones used by union leaders. They have also sent the DVRs for the forensic examinations collected from the sub-stations. 

 
The court asked the administration regarding their backup plans if the employees go again on strike. The bench asked for a response from the administration. The union’s undertaking is also on record. On the matter, the union said the union has nothing to do with the incident related to the damage of electricity.

 
 
In the hearing, the High Court also reprimanded the lawyer of the Union. Court told the Union, they are blackmailing the administration by going on strike. The High Court also asked for assurance from the Union that they will not go on a strike again. 

 
The DC told the court that the strike affected the city’s electricity and damage to the power system. The workers went on strike even though the matter was sub-judice in the court.
