Actress Hina Khan's father died on 20 April due to cardiac arrest. At the time of his death, the actress was not present with him. She had gone to Kashmir because of a shoot. The actress returned to Mumbai immediately after hearing the news of her father's demise.

Recently she shared an emotional note on her social media remembering her father. In that post, she informed the public that she will now take a break from social media for a few days. She wrote, " my beloved father Aslam Khan left for the heavenly abode on the 20th of April, 2021. I am grateful to each one of you for checking in on me and my family during these tough times. While me and my family are mourning the loss, my social media accounts will be handled by my team for upcoming work commitments. Thank you for your support and love. Hina Khan”.

Hina was very close to her father. She often shared her photos with her father on social media. In a video shared by the actress, it was seen that her father had blocked all her credit and debit cards to ensure strict compliance with the economy during the lockdown. When Hina asked him the reason he replied, “the lockdown is not yet over so save your money. I will give you 200rs for the coffee itself and the rest for the expenses”. At the end of the video, Hina gets angry and insists on withdrawing the card. This video of this father-daughter debate was very much liked by the fans.
