HP becomes first state to complete 100% vaccination of adults with first dose

Himachal Pradesh CM Jairam Thakur congratulated and tweeted, “It is a matter of joy that we have achieved the target of administering the first dose of Covid vaccine for adults in the state.”

On Sunday, Himachal Pradesh health minister Dr Rajiv Saizal said that the state has become the first Indian state to complete 100 percent vaccination of adults with first dose, which means that all adult residents of the state have got at least the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine. 

While talking to media agency ANI, state health ministry, “The state has completed 100 percent first dose vaccinations in the 18 plus age group and it aims to complete 100 percent vaccination of both the doses by November 30, 2021.” 

He continued, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appreciated the efforts of the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh for Covid-19 management and also in the field of vaccination. The state has been doing well right from the beginning.”

He further informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would virtually interact with the beneficiaries and medical staff and would congratulate them for achieving the milestone. 

He further said that to check if only one is left without vaccination, the proper investigation would be done and everyone would be vaccinated.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister congratulated and thanked the residents of the state and tweeted (in Hindi), “It is a matter of joy that we have achieved the target of administering the first dose of Covid vaccine in the state. Certainly, with the cooperation of the public, we will soon achieve the next goal as well. Once again congratulations and thanks to all.”

According to the health department, Himachal Pradesh's Covid-19 tally has increased to 2,13,122 after on Saturday the state recorded 209 fresh cases. While the death toll climbed to 3,575 as six more people succumbed to the disease. Of the latest deaths, two were reported from Chamba district and one each from Kangra, Hamirpur, Mandi and Shimla districts of the state.
