‘Hum Apke Hain Kaun’ music director Raam Laxman dies at 78, days after taking second COVID 19 shot

Raam Laxman, a popular music composer who composed the music for films such as Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun, died on Saturday.

Raam Laxman, a well-known music director who composed music for films such as Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun, among others, died on Saturday (May 22). He'd been sick for quite some time. He died in Nagpur at the age of 79.

He passed away in the early hours of Saturday due to a heart attack at his residence in Nagpur. 


His son Amar told indianexpress.com, “My father passed away at 2:00 am on Saturday. He died due to a heart attack. He got the second jab of Covid-19 vaccine a few days ago, following which he was feeling very weak and fatigued, and a doctor was treating him for that.”

On Twitter, Lata Mangeshkar expressed her condolences on the death of the veteran composer.She tweeted, “I just learned that the extremely talented and popular music composer Raam Laxman ji (Vijay Patil) has passed away. I am very sorry to hear this. He was a great man. I sang many of his songs which got very popular. I pay him my respects.”

Many famous Raam Laxman songs featured Lata Mangeshkar's vocals, including "Maye Ni Maye," "Didi Tera Dewar Deewana," and "Kabootar Ja Ja Ja.”





Maine Pyar Kiya, a Salman Khan film, made Raam Laxman famous in 1989. His most successful collaborations were with Rajshri Productions. He composed music for over 200 films in Hindi, Marathi, and Bhojpuri.
