"I designed my own suit didn’t have enough money to buy something special": Kangana Ranaut on her first National Award

Kangana, who made her Bollywood debut with 'Gangster' in 2006, has so far won the National Award three times.

If Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is to be believed, when she received the first National Award of her career, then she did not have much money to buy a special outfit for Ceremony. The actress claimed this while re-posting a post from her social media page on Saturday night.

Kangana took to Twitter and wrote, "First National award, Many special memories attached to this, I was one of the youngest actresses to receive the honour, also for a woman centric film from a woman President. I designed my own suit didn’t have enough money to buy something special, the suit wasn’t bad...nahin ?"

Kangana, who made her Bollywood debut with 'Gangster' in 2006, has so far won the National Award three times. She won the Best Supporting Actress for the role of Shonali Bose in Fashion (2008), Best Actress for her role as Rani Mehra in 'Queen' (2014), and Best Actress for her portrayal of Datto in 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' (2015). In addition, in 2020, the Government of India has awarded her the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest honor in the country.
