“I don't want to marry you”: Neena Gupta Opens Up About The Ex Who Called Off Their Wedding At "The Last Minute"

During the launch of her autobiography, Sach Kahun Toh, on Monday, Neena Gupta said that she was almost married to a man whose family she was living with, but he called off their wedding "at the last minute." Neena Gupta has recounted numerous experiences from her life in her tell-all autobiography, which she has been writing for 20 years, and revisiting one of them in an interview with actress Kareena Kapoor.


The Badhaai Ho actress admitted that she "would have wanted to be married to" her ex, but that she had accepted her fate and "moved on." Neena Gupta has a daughter with former cricketer Viv Richards, fashion designer Masaba Gupta. Masaba was raised by her as a single mother, and in 2008, she married chartered accountant Vivek Mehra. The pair resides in Uttarakhand's Mukteshwar.


"I would have loved to get married to him. I had a lot of respect for his father, mother," said Neena "What I did, whatever God gave me or wherever I went wrong, I accepted it and moved forward," Neena Gupta told Kareena Kapoor on how she was "all alone" in her prime years and that she has never "lived her life on her own terms." I wanted a normal husband and children with the husband who is now living with me...When I see other people, I do feel a little envious. I did not blame, I did not become alcoholic, because what I wanted I did not get.”

"I have talked about that guy I was gonna get married and last minute, I had gone to get my clothes made in Delhi, he called up and he said, 'I don't want to marry you.' Till today I don't know why. But what can I do? I moved on. I would have loved to get married to him. I had a lot of respect for his father, mother. I was living in their house. He's going to read, he's alive, he's happily married. He has children," added the 62-year-old actress.

Neena Gupta spoke about the challenges she had as a single mother raising Masaba, living without a companion after relocating to Mumbai for a long time, and many other events in her life in her autobiography.

Mandi, Utsav, Trikaal, Badhaai Ho, Sardar Ka Grandson, and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar are among the films in which Neena Gupta has appeared. She has a project called Dial 100 in the works, as well as the second season of Masaba Masaba.
