'We don't count casualties but the targets hit': Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa

"Air Force is not in a position to clarify how many people were inside. We don't count human casualties. We count what targets we have hit or not hit," said Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa while addressing a press conference

Answering to the questions on the number of casualties caused by the Indian Air Force in the airstrike on the Jaish based terror camps in Balakot, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa said that the Indian Air Force doesn't count the number of casualties but the number of targets hit by the strike.

"Air Force is not in a position to clarify how many people were inside. We don't count human casualties. We count what targets we have hit or not hit," said Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa while addressing a press conference.

Amid Pakistan claiming that 'no damage' was done by the Indian airstrike, the Indian Air Chief Marshal said that there would be no need of a response by Pakistan if we had only dropped bombs in jungles on trees. He, thereby, clearly dismissed the Pakistani claims of 'no casualties'.

"The target has been clearly amplified by the Foreign Secretary in his statement and if we planned to hit the target, we hit the target...otherwise why would they (Pakistan) have responded? If we had dropped bombs in the jungle there would be no need to respond," said the Indian Air Chief Marshal.

He added that releasing the official figure was a matter to be addressed by the Indian Government.
