IAS Anirudh Tiwari to be new Punjab Chief Secretary

Anirudh Tewari, a 1990 batch Punjab IAS officer has been named New Chief Secretary and would replace Vini Mahajan.

After Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi assumed office on Sept 20, there have been new postings, transfers and administrative reshuffle since then. In another such development, Punjab is now all set to have New Chief Secretary.


Anirudh Tewari, a 1990 batch Punjab IAS officer has been named New Chief Secretary in place of Vini Mahajan.


In the orders issued this morning from the office of Governor of Punjab, IAS Anirudh Tewari has been posted as Punjab's Chief Secretary and in addition Principal Secretary, Department of Personnel and Vigilance in place of Vini Mahajan, and in addition Financial Commissioner, Development and in addition Principal Secretary, Food Processing and in addition Principal Secretary, Horticulture and in addition Principal Secretary, Governance Reforms & Public Grievances.

Tewari was working as the Additional Chief Secretary-cum-financial Commissioner, Development and in addition Additional Chief Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Horticulture and Food Processing. He is now all set to take charge as Punjab’s New Chief Secretary.
