The examination will be held in three phases. The first willbe online exam, the second will be descriptive exam, and the final will be a personalinterview.

Each of these exams will have their admit cards which willbe downloadable from the official website of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

To download the admit card, registration details will berequired.

The process is mentioned in detail in the exam notice, andis presented in summarised form here.

The candidature may be cancelled if the candidate fails tofollow the instructions in the admit card/call letter for the online or offlineexam, as applicable.

Also, the downloaded admit card needs to be signed, and the candidatemay not change his signature to avoid being disqualified from the examination.

On the day of the examination the candidate needs to carrypassport-sized coloured photos (identical to the one uploaded on theapplication form). Also, identity proofs in original need to be carried.

Online exam will have questions from general awareness,quantitative aptitude, numerical / analytical / logical ability and reasoning,and English language.

It must be noted that there is negative marking and one-fourthof the total marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every wronganswer attempted.

From the online exams, candidates numbering in 10 times thenumber of vacancies will be shortlisted for the descriptive exam. Thus, theonline exam is a screening exam and as such the candidate needs to qualifythis.

The final selection will be qualified by scoring a minimumcut-off which will be depending upon the category of the candidate.
