Attacking the Centre over the new farm laws in politically crucial Uttar Pradesh, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that new Acts will benefit 'Arabpatis'. Priyanka was speaking at 'Kisan mahapanchayat' organised by the party in Saharanpur district.

In 1955, Jawaharlal Nehru had made laws against hoarding, but the BJP government has scrapped that law, said Gandhi, adding that these new farm bills will only help the 'Arabpatis'.

She further added that these ‘Arabpatis’ will decide the price of farmers' produce.

Promising that if UP people vote Congress the party will repeal the three controversial laws, said the Congress leader. "The three laws are demonic. If voted to power, the Congress will scrap these laws," she said.

She accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders of “insulting” farmers who are protesting against the laws and stated that her party's fight will last till the laws are withdrawn.

Priyanka visited UP as a party’s outreach campaign 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' which is planned to be held in 27 districts of the state. Many prominent party leaders will be participating in the 10-day programme, media convenor of UP Congress Lalan Kumar said.

The Congress party with this campaign is trying to make its way in the state which will have its poll next year.
