Following India's double breakthrough before lunch, England team captain Joe Root and opener Dominic Sibley showcase resilience, as Indian bowlers looked average in front of the English batsmen. After Burns and Sibley gave a 50 run opening partnership,  Bumrah and Ashwin took one wicket each. Interestingly the ball started reversing before the lunch break, however, Root and Sibley came out positive after lunch and forced Virat Kohli to change his bowlers over again and again. 

Batting like a solid-rock, England opener Dominic Sibley scored his fourth test fifty. Sibley in his hard-fought fifty faced 161 balls. While writing this article England was in a commanding position 129/2 (54 overs) with Sibley batting on 52 and Root batting on 36.

Talking about India's team selection, Virat Kohli once again surprised everyone by selecting Nadeem in the playing X1 instead of Kuldeep Yadav. The expectation of people was high that in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja, the chinaman bowler Kuldeep can get a chance at the first test. However, Kohli opted for Nadeem who has not shined for India yet.
