India registers youngest COVID-19 casualty, 45-day-old infant dies in Delhi hospital

On Saturday, a 45-day-old infant after testing positive for novel coronavirus succumbed to the disease at the Kalawati Saran Children's hospital in New Delhi.

An infant's death has made the nation to register its youngest COVID-19 casualty. She was admitted in the hospital on April 14 and was tested positive for the virus on April 16. 

It is to be noted here that several infants have been found positive for the deadly virus across the country.

As per the reports of an eminent news agency, on April 19, an 8-day-old baby was tested positive for coronavirus in Vasai-Virar municipal limits in Maharashtra's Palghar district. The infant was tested positive at VVMC's Juchandra medical facility.

Before this, a 21-month-old infant from Kolkata tested positive for COVID-19 in the city. The infant is a resident of Uttar Panchanna Gram in south Kolkata. However, the infant after testing positive was promptly shifted to Belaghata ID and BG Hospital from the Institute of Child Health (ICH).

It is evident from such facts that coronavirus does not attack by looking at age groups or so, it can attack anybody.

As of Sunday, over 15,000 cases have been registered in India with more than 500 deaths.
