AnIndian army helicopter crashed near Ranjit Sagar Dam in Pathankot on Tuesdaymorning. Police have been called to the spot to ascertain the damage andcausalities reported.

Thehelicopter, according to sources, belongs to the Indian Army. Rescue effortsare now ongoing. The army team on the other hand has also rushed to thescene to assess the damage and assist in the rescue operation.

Bothpilots of the army helicopter are safe, defence sources said.

Army'saviation ALH Dhruv helicopter that had taken off from Pathankot in Punjab and met with an accident midway near Ranjit Sagar Dam. 

Meanwhile, defence sources said, "Boththe pilots are safe. The weapon system integrated helicopter had taken off fromPathankot and met with an accident during a routine sortie". However, sources claimed that search operation is going on, and the army and police teams are yet to locate the pilots.
