Indian Army instructs ex-servicemen, ‘Don’t wear medals, ribbons at public events’

The Indian Army has issued an advisory citing where all these given medals and ribbons can be worn by the veterans.

In recent times, many Army veterans have been seen taking part in political rallies. With regards to this, the Indian Army has published an advisory regarding wearing ribbons and medals by ex-servicemen at public events.

An advisory has been issued by the Army instructing the veterans as to where all these ribbons and medals can be worn as per Army rules. 

According to the Army rules, wearing of uniforms, ribbons and medals in political rallies is prohibited,  Army sources said.

There have been various incidents in the past, In the recent past, where ex-servicemen have been spotted wearing uniforms with medals and ribbons at protest rallies and marches. A recent example is the ongoing farmers protest in Delhi.

Some political leaders have also claimed that the farmers would take out their parade on tractors in the national capital on Republic Day.
