As a woman of color and an immigrant, Indra Nooyi did not have an easy journey to becoming the former chairman and CEO of PepsiCo. Indra Nooyi’s memoir was released on 28th September; her publisher is calling an unvarnished take" on her rise to becoming one of the world's most powerful women.

Indra Nooyi tells the story of that journey in her memoir, My Life in Full (published by Hachette India) in 313 pages that are packed with her experiences of settling in America, negotiating the boardroom, balancing work and family life and what the pandemic has meant for workplaces.

Nooyi describes the events that shaped her life from childhood to her becoming Pepsico CEO, a position from which she retired in 2018.

“As I wrote My Life in Full, I saw how my own story relates to our evolving global economy and how it may inform our progress on better integrating work and family in the years ahead,” Nooyi said in a statement. “I hope this book inspires business leaders, policymakers and all women and men passionate about easing the work-and-family burden to come together and create change.”

“One Tuesday in November 2009, after hours of meetings in Washington DC with two dozen top US and Indian business executives, I found myself standing between the US President and the PM of India,” she writes in the introduction of the memoir.

Just like the former CEO, people are extremely excited to get their hands on the book as well, while those who preordered it and are currently reading it, are in absolute awe of the business executive.

Indra has shared some of her beautiful life experiences in her memoir. She said once about balancing her work and family life, “‘Many times as I tried to get some work done, with my baby sleeping on my legs & Preetha snoozing beside me, I wondered what I was doing. I started to ask myself: should I keep working? What would be the consequences if I quit? Would I have regrets & resentments that would create a negative environment at home"

Candid and sparkling with anecdote and humour, Nooyi gives us a peek into her life and the story behind her success.
