There is good news for people planning to celebrate Christmas and New Year outside the country. In fact, the government has allowed international air travel from December 15 after a full 633-day ban. The government had banned international flights on March 22, three days before the Corona lockdown last year.

Now air travel can be done to those countries where the situation of Kovid is under control. However, the ban on traveling to 14 countries will still continue. These include the UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Finland, South Africa, Brazil, China, Mauritius, Singapore, Bangladesh, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and New Zealand.

The government has taken this decision in view of the new variant of coronavirus. Flight service continues under air bubble agreements with many of the 14 countries whose air travel is still banned by the government. At present, India has air bubble arrangements with 31 countries including the US, UK, UAE.

Like international flights, domestic flights were also banned during the lockdown. However, after a break of two months, domestic flight operations with limited capacity were started in May 2020. Only last month, domestic flights have been allowed to fly at full capacity. The financial health of companies deteriorated due to the flight ban

The long suspension on scheduled international flights has affected the financial health of most airlines. Vistara had said that all predictions of the revival of the aviation sector have turned out to be wrong. So it is too early to say that the aviation industry is completely out of trouble.
