While Mohali witnessed Virat Kohli donning the 'Captain's hat' once again for the RCB and defeating the home team Punjab Kings by 24 runs in the IPL 2023 on April 20, a major security scare was averted. As per reports, three people — including a known associate of gangster Deepak alias Tinu — was arrested from Hotel Lalit in Chandigarh on Thursday, where the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cricket team was staying for their IPL match against Punjab Kings. Reportedly, after making the arrests the Police stated that Gangster Deepak was a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The three arrested men were identified as Mohit Bhardwaj of Bapu Dham Colony-26, Rohit Bhardwaj of Zirakpur, and Naveen of Jhajjar district in Haryana. It is pertinent to mention here that the presence of three gangsters at the same hotel where the RCB was staying is indeed suspicious raising.
Reports further suggest that the three gangsters had booked a room in Hotel lalit on Wednesday night. The police came to know about the trio when they allegedly misbehaved with some hotel staff, who in turn alerted security personnel. The police said that the three men were taken into preventive custody on Thursday as there were apprehensions that they could harm the RCB cricket team. It is pertinent to mention here that the RCB left from Mohali on Friday. As per a Police official , during questioning, they have so far claimed that they got the room so that they could get photos clicked with the cricketers staying there. However, the Police couldn’t have risked that. So, they proceeded to arrest the trio under preventive sections 107/151 of CrPC.
As per reports, a police team later thoroughly searched the hotel room of the arrested trio and found no objectionable objects there. The three men were produced in a local court and released on the regular bail. A case has been registered at IT Park Police Station.

Royal Challengers Bangalore cruised to a 24 runs victory in the IPL 2023 against Punjab Kings in Mohali. They forged a 137 runs partnership for the first wicket which is RCB's highest partnership for any wicket at this particular ground. If the Southern giants want to do well this time this pair needs to be at their best this campaign.
