The much-controversial 72 Hoorain's trailer was finally released on Wednesday and in no time the upcoming movie sparked a new uproar in the country. After The Kashmir FIles, The Kerala Story, 72 Hoorain is accused of spreading Islamophobia in the country by a section of media and society. Directed by two-time National Award-winning film-maker- Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, 72 Hoorain (virgins) has been produced by Gulab Singh Tanwar, Kiran Dagar, and Anirudh Tanwar and is co-produced by Ashoke Pandit. It stars actors like Aamir Bashir, Pawan Malhotra, and more in the lead roles. Notably, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) denied a censor certificate to the trailer of the upcoming film which angered the film-makers including Ashoke Pandit who released a video of himself asking the Film Board to clarify by coming up with a reason. Keeping the controversy aside, the question arises whether 72 Hoorain is a true story or 72 Hoorain is a real story or not? To know the answer continue reading-

Is 72 Hoorain a true story?

If going by the makers, 72 Hoorain is a true story based on terror gangs operation in India and around the world that are brainwashing the Muslim Youths in the name of 72 Hoorain (Virgins) and pushing them to the path of Jihad. Going by the trailer, it is centered around cold-blooded terrorists such as Osama bin Laden, Yakoob Memon, and Masood Azhar. In one of the clips of the trailer, it shows one of the terror gang leaders brainwashing the youths by saying that if they die doing Jihad then they will go directly to heaven where 72 Hoorain (Virgins) will be waiting for them. Interestingly, a section of the trailer shows fiction as well when two (dead) actors talk to themselves that there is no 72 Hoorain in heaven and in fact, they are not even in heaven.

What is the 72 Hoorain controversy?

72 Hoorain trailer: Why CBFC rejected to certify National Award winner Sanjay Chauhan-directorial movie?

Ashoke Pandit, co-producer of the film said the censor board has refused to give a certificate to the trailer of the movie set for release on July 7. He said, "They (Censor board) have asked us to remove some scenes and words from the trailer, but they have no objection to keeping those scenes in the film. We are questioning this contradiction. This film is not against any religion and is dealing with terrorism." The movie's tone and content are carried over into the trailer. Therefore, everyone has been greatly surprised by the rejection.

72 Hoorain's creators announced that they will now take this issue to higher authorities for aid. They will also ask the I&B ministry to get involved and investigate the CBFC's top officials.

"We, the makers, of the film '72 Hoorain' are quite shocked and surprised because the censor board today refused to give us a certificate for our trailer. It's quite funny and sad that a film which has won a National Award, a film which has won an award at IFFI (International Film Festival of India), the visuals are the same as what were then in the film, what is there in the trailer. So on one side, you have given a National Award to the film, and on the other side, you are refusing a certificate to the trailer of the film," the producer stated.
