While the Bollywood fraternity is appealing for unity and not fall prey to foreign divisive agendas, Hollywood celebrities are not in a mood to hold back. After a number of Hollywood and International celebrities, American Vlogger Amanda Cerny who also shares a close bond with Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez came out in support of the farmers protesting against the newly passed farm laws. Amanda took to Twitter and shared a black white photo of elderly women and said that 'The World is Watching"
Amanda took to Instagram and wrote, "The world is watching. You don't have to be Indian or Punjabi or South Asian to understand the issue. All you have to do is care about humanity. Always demand freedom of speech, freedom of the press, basic human and civil rights-equity and dignity for workers."
A section of people on social media was widely trolling the Bollywood celebrities for not speaking in favor of farmers. Following that a user commented on Amanda's post and said that our Indian artists are too scared of the government. On this, Amanda replied, "I know, I have spoken with many people and understand that they don't want to hurt their business by speaking their mind. Careers can be ended as it's all so "political". But I think there is more value in self-sacrifice to allow for a voice to others that are being silenced. It can initially suck but at the end of it all, you live with real purpose if you aim to do what's right with zero self-interest".
Amanda Cerny hosts a podcast with actor Jacqueline Fernandez. Jacqueline often comes live with Amanda through her social media and the actress shares a special friendship bond with the vlogger. Now, it will be interesting to see what Jacqueline will respond as the majority of Bollywood has stook against the 'foreign divisive powers'.
