Withvaccination capacity in all private and government healthcare establishmentswas augmented to 6000 daily, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today exhortedall eligible beneficiaries to make vaccination drive a mega success by ensuringthe maximum inoculation in the district.

Presidingover a meeting to review the current situation arising from the second Covid-19wave, the deputy commissioner said the vaccination was the only way to keep thevirus spread under check but it would only be possible with people’sparticipation.

Hementioned that as many as 41 private and 13 government hospitals were providingvaccination facilities to the beneficiaries adding all government-run primaryhealth centers, community health centers, and sub-divisional health centerswould start these services from Monday onward. With such a vast mechanism setup by the administration for providing a smooth vaccination to thebeneficiaries, Mr. Thori said that it was now people’s duty to come forward forthe inoculation.

Thedeputy commissioner said the administration has already enhanced its samplingand contact tracing capacity, with the collection of 21,259 samples and 19.69contacts of positive patients traced in the last seven days. Of the totalcollected samples, a total of 7596 samples were collected from government andprivate schools in the district. He mentioned that about 68.18 percent of bedsin level-2 and 50.39 percent in level-3 facilities were available in thedistrict besides the availability of 79.27 percent ventilators. He furtheradded that so far 9679 healthcare workers and 10652 front-line workers havebeen vaccinated alongside 9403 senior citizens and 1750 beneficiaries betweenthe age group of 45-59 years with comorbidities were also inoculated.

Thedeputy commissioner directed the police authorities to ensure strict complianceof night curfew in the district and challan those who violate golden principlesof wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, washing hands, etc. He furtherasked the officials to keep a vigil on all kinds of gatherings in the districtand penalize those who violate the government’s protocol concerning massgatherings.
