
Jalandhar, May 27: In another example of taking stern actionagainst the healthcare institutions failing to comply with the guidelinesissued by the state government, district administration Jalandhar has issued ashow-cause notice to Kap Scan & Diagnostic centre for alleged overchargingin CT scan of a Covid-19 patient.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thoristated that a complaint was received from the Advocate DS Bawa that thescanning center had demanded Rs. 5000 for CT scan of a Covid-19 patient, who isalso an advocate; however, the state government has fixed Rs. 2000 for thistest for Covid-19 patients. The amount allegedly demanded by the hospital wasin violation of the state government's guidelines; hence a show-cause notice isbeing issued to the scanning center to furnish its explanation in the presentcase.
The DC reiterated that any kind of laxity in this waragainst the pandemic would be highly unwarranted and stern action would betaken against the erring persons. He also urged people to file complaints withthe administration in case they face any kind of overcharging and malpractices.The people can lodge complaints on control room no. 0181-2224417.
