District Administration Jalandhar is organizing dedicatedCovid-19 vaccination camps across the district to cover all school teachers bythe August 25, said Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner said thatas many as 22 exclusive camps were being held in the district to realize theaim of covering all school teachers within a short span of time. These campswill be held at CHC Kala Bakra, Adampur, Phillaur, PHC Bilga, Noormahal,Jandiala, Barapind, Jamsher Khas, CHC Kartarpur, Nakodar, CHC Lohian Khas,Shahkot, Mehatpur, and Urban Jalandhar, he said adding that no one withoutcompletion of their vaccination would be allowed to attend school classes.
He categoricallymentioned that any kind of laxity in this task would be dealt with heavy handsas safety of children cannot be compromised at any cost.
The DC said that the state government has made itmandatory to cover all school teachers through mammoth vaccination drives bythe given deadline as safety of children was of prime concern. He asked theDistrict Education Officer to intensify vaccination drives in the schools so asto achieve this goal within the stipulated time-frame.
He further directed theeducation and health department to ensure strict adherence of Covid-19appropriate behavior in schools including social distancing, masking, handsanitizing, and others. He asked health officials to ensure random RT PCRtesting in schools so that virus spread could be kept under check. He statedvaccination of school staff by August 25, would be achieved in a mission mode.
The DC further appealed all the teachers who have notcompleted their vaccination yet to approach these camps and get vaccinated so asto ensure strict compliance of government orders.
