Jalandhar Rainfall
The rainfall in Jalandhar has raised serious questions about the city’s infrastructure under the Smart City project. The Dussehra ground in Ghas Mandi turned into a pond due to lack of drainage. The foundation stone of this ground was laid at a cost of Rs 82 lakh under the leadership of Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi, Sushil Rinku for the Smart City project. Despite ₹82 lakh being allocated under the Smart City project and an additional ₹3 crore grant, the locals are angry over the neglected maintenance and alleged mismanagement. Concerns include waterlogging, tree cutting, and no cleaning staff.
