Jalandhar ASI Surjit Singh was violently struck by a speeding car at a high-tech blockade near Shahkot. On Thursday, his duty was imposed at the high-tech checkpoint in Kawan Pattan village adjacent to Sutlej river in Shahkot. He was reported instructing the car to stop at the checkpoint to which the driver did not listen and plowed straight through. The ASI was ran over by the speeding car and landed on the divider critically injured. He has been admitted to the hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The entire incident was caught on CCTV.
The car dragged him along with itself in Shahkot. At some distance, ASI Surjeet fell on the divider and got seriously injured. After this the car also stopped a little further. After the incident, the driver fled leaving the car on the spot. Fellow police personnel admitted ASI Surjeet to the hospital, where his condition remains critical. CCTV video of the entire incident has surfaced. In which the entire incident of running the car over the ASI was captured.

Car details are being extracted to identify the accused. The accused will be arrested soon.
