The police have arrested Pradeep Khullar in connection with the Minty Kaur-Ashu Sampla dispute. Pradeep Khullar is the vice president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Jalandhar and Vijay Sampla's close aide. The court declared him to be a fugitive. He was brought before the court by the police following his arrest, and from there he was sent to the Modern Jail Kapurthala till October 27. The police of Police Station Division No. 6 arrested Pradeep Khullar outside a private hospital where he had gone to receive medication.
BJP politician Pradeep Khullar made some indecent comments about Minty Kaur during the Ashu Sampla-Minty Kaur controversy. Minty Kaur continued to appear in every hearing on the ongoing dispute in the court, but Pradeep Khullar did not appear in the court. Pradeep Khullar has been declared a fugitive by the court due to this. The court had issued non-bailable warrants against him.
However, Pradeep Khullar had also tried to get bail after being declared a fugitive and issuing a non-bailable warrant to avoid court action. However, the judge denied Pradeep Khullar's request for bail and rejected it. Police station number 6 in charge Sukhdev Singh said that the matter is related to the court case. Pradeep Khullar was running proclaimed offender from the court. A bail petition was filed in the High Court but no relief was received from there too. Police arrested BJP leader Pradeep Khullar and produced him in court from where he has been sent to Kapurthala jail till 27 October.

After his arrest, BJP leader Pradeep Khullar alleged that the Congress government had filed a case against him under the IT Act out of political enmity. He said that the case was registered in 2017 on the complaint of a woman which was planted by Congressmen. He said that he appeared in court in the month of August.
Because of his poor health, he requested an exemption. But the application was rejected by the court. Medical was also imposed, but the court did not accept that too and orders were issued for his arrest. He said that he respects the law. He hopes that he will definitely get justice in this false case.
