A 23-year-old youth from Jalandhar, who was missing from London since December 15 was found late at night. His body was found in a lake in Canary Wharf.
The youth, Gurashman Bhatia, reportedly died in a drowning accident. His body was recovered from a lake in the Canary Wharf area in London. CCTV evidence suggests that he voluntarily jumped in the lake. He had previously been reporting missing in that area on December 15. He was last seen by three of his friends after his birthday party in the Canary Wharf area. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa had asked external affairs minister Dr. S. Jaishankar’s help in locating the youth in a X/twitter post.
Talking to the family members, they inform that late last night the father of the deceased was informed by the London Police that his body had been recovered near a river. The young man's father and uncle have started for London to obtain the body.
There is an atmosphere of mourning in Gurashman Bhatia's house in Model Town, Jalandhar. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa confirmed the death of the missing youth in a video tweet on X and expressed his condolences to the family. At present the family members are grieving and therefore have not given a statement.
