TheCommissionerate Police on Friday solved the murder case of Sodal Road-basedfinancier Gurmeet Singh Tinku and arrested two of the accused involved in thecrime.

The arrested accused persons have been identified asHarpreet Singh alias Happy Mall of Icchewal village and Surinder Singh ofMamdot, Ferozepur district. The cops have also recovered a 0.32 bore pistol andthree live cartridges.

Divulging the details, Commissioner of Police GurpreetSingh Bhullar said that Gurmeet Singh Tinku was running his business namely PVCfinance in Preet Nagar, Sodal road and on March 6, Puneet Sharma of Aman Nagarand Narinder Sharda of New Gobind Nagar Jalandhar District along withunidentified accomplices attacked Tinku by pumping bullets and later fled awayfrom the spot. He said that on basis of technical investigation, CCTV footagesand human intelligence, the CIA and Police station-8 arrested two of theaccused, involved in this case.

Bhullar said during the preliminary investigation, theaccused told Gurmeet had attacked the house and ransacked the car of PuneetSharma following which a case was registered against Gurmeet and others.

Commissioner of Police added that later due to this oldgrudge Puneet Sharma and Narinder Sharda hatched a conspiracy to eliminateGurmeet and they took help from Happy Mall who was lodged in Patiala Jail. BothPuneet and Mall were known to each other as both had met in the jail.

Commissioner of Police added that later, Mall arranged ameeting of Puneet and Sharda with  Happy Bhullar (a PO in Kharad murdercase), Jeeta of Khilchi, and Surinder Singh of Mamdot to execute the killing. Hesaid according to the plot, all of the accused came here two days ahead of the crimeand murdered Tinku on March 6.

Bhullar added that Harpreet and Surinder have beenarrested following they were brought from Patiala and Ferozepur jails. Harpreethas been facing five criminal cases in various police stations of Punjab andseven cases are registered against Surinder Singh.

Both accused during the remand were quizzed thoroughlyregarding the whereabouts of Puneet, Narinder, Jeeta, and Harpreet. He saidpolice teams were behind to arrest the remaining accused and they would bebehind bars soon.
