An elderly woman was attacked by 4 dogs in Ashok Nagar of Jalandhar, Punjab. The woman was walking down a street when suddenly 4 dogs pounced on her this morning. The incident was caught on CCTV footage. The woman fell down on the street trying to defend herself after which one of the dogs bit her on the foot. A resident came out to help the woman after hearing her screams for help, but the dogs had left at that point.

The incident took place behind Shehnai Palace in Ashok Nagar. Textile merchant Sanjeev Kumar Arora, who lives there, informed that the 65-year-old woman works at people’s homes along with her two daughters. On Saturday the woman was going to her place of work at around 11.30 in the morning. The woman was making her way slowly from the Ashok Nagar turn.

When she reached the T-point, a dog walked up to her and started barking. Following this, 3 more dogs arrived and attacked the woman. One of the dogs bit her on the leg when she fell trying to defend herself. When the concerned resident came out of his house after hearing the woman's screams, the dogs had gone from there. After this the people of the locality gathered and the woman was taken to civil hospital for treatment.

Sanjeev Arora said that the residents of the locality have often complained to the municipality regarding the dogs, but no change has been seen. Even their own children are afraid to go out in these streets because of the menace of stray dogs in the neighborhood.
