The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has announced that a power cut has been scheduled for July 5, 2025 (Saturday) in various parts of the Jalandhar district.
According to the preliminary information, the cut has been scheduled because of essential maintenance and infrastructural updates and will be impacting various densely populated areas of the city. The officials have also highlighted that this check is important during the monsoon times.
The Power Department has mentioned that the cut will be implemented between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
This maintenance will impact the consumers, who are connected to three major 11KV feeders installed at Mandi Road, Central Mill, and Railway Road feeders. It is to be noted that these feeders are responsible for electricity supply in major residential and commercial zones.

The areas to be affected due to Mandi Road Feeder -
According to PSPCL, the maintenance at Mandi Road Feeder will result in electricity shutdown for around six hours (from 9 am to 3 pm). The supply will be suspended in the following areas - Santoshi Nagar, Qazi Mandi, Mandi Road, Rishi Nagar, Partap Road, Bhagat Singh Chowk, BKB, Railway Road, and Inderprasth Mohalla.
The areas to be affected due to Central Mill Feeder -
PSPCL has outlined that the Central Mill Feeder and its maintenance will also result in an electricity cut for six hours, i.e., between 9 am and 3 pm. Dhan Mohalla, Qilla Mohalla, Kaji Mohalla, Khingra Gate, Panj Peer Bazar, Attari Bazar, Shivrajgarh, Bashirpura, and Adda Hoshiarpur are the areas that will be impacted by this Feeder.
The areas to be affected due to Railway Road Feeder -
Same as above, the maintenance will result in six hours of cut, impacting the areas including BDS Nagar, Dhan Mohalla, and BKB.
PSPCL’s appeal -
The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, PSPCL, has issued an advisory and has expressed regret due to the inconvenience and urged the residents and citizens to show cooperation during the power cut.
Along with this, the PSPCL has appealed to the people to adjust their essential work and tasks according to the scheduled shutdown.
