Jalandhar: Gymkhana Club's 'Husband eve' event goes wrong, FIR filed

A case against the club has been registered by division No. 4 police station under IPC Section 188, 3 Noise Pollution Rules 2000.

In the latest development, police have registered a complaint against Gymkhana Club in Jalandhar. A case against the club has been registered by division No. 4 police station under IPC Section 188, 3 Noise Pollution Rules 2000.

Reportedly, an event was organized in the Ladies Gymkhana Club called the Husband’s eve and famous Sufi singer Navi Ibadat was performing with his team during the event. On Monday, around 11 pm in the night police arrived at the club to stop the event. The police officials stated that they had received instructions from the Deputy Commissioner's office that late-night DJs are causing noise pollution in the area. Post this, on Tuesday the police station under division number 5 lodged an FIR against the management of the Ladies Gymkhana Club for creating noise pollution in the area. During the event, members of the Ladies Gymkhana Club and their husbands, the families of the club members were also present.

There has been a stir in the management after the complaint because pictures of DC’s wife Kanvardeep Kaur and ADC Bajwa's wife Preeti Bajwa were also present on the invitation letter of the event.

The Ladies Gymkhana’s management team further includes Secretary Sandeep Bahl Kukki, Junior Vice President Amit Kukreja, Joint Secretary Saurabh Khullar and Treasurer Major Kochad besides Shaleen Joshi, Nitin Bahl, Professor Vipan Jhanji, Nikhil Gupta, Raju Sidhu of the executive team. CA Rajeev Bansal, Advocate Gundeep Singh Sodhi, Atul Talwar, Mahendra Singh and Harpreet Singh Goldi.
