Jalandhar District Administration has issued a new public advisory, in which it has cautioned the public to remain alert in light of recent drone-related security protocols. Jalandhar DC Himanshu Aggarwal shared a public advisory in case the people of Jalandhar spot any drone or hear unusual sounds. Not only this, but the district administration also issued a public helpline number to report any such drone-related incident. The public advisory comes after Pakistan has tried to violate the understanding with New Delhi for a ceasefire. Pakistan is continuously trying to invade Punjab by sending its drones. However, the impeccable Indian Air Defence system has successfully thwarted them.
According to the advisory issued by Jalandhar DC, if any individual notices a drone flying at night or hears any suspicious sound associated with drone activity, they must immediately report the incident to the nearest police station or contact the control room at 0181-2224417 or dial 112.
DOs and DONTs during suspicious drone activity
- Loud noises may be heard due to military counter-drone operations.
- There is no need to panic; residents are advised to stay calm.
- Do not take photos or videos of such activity or share anything on social media.
- Stay indoors and switch off all lights during such events.
- Do not approach or touch any drones that may have fallen.
- Temporary power outages may occur in certain areas as a precautionary measure by the electricity department.
The Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar has appealed to the public to strictly follow these instructions in the interest of public safety and national security.
