Former Jalandhar West MLA, Sheetal Angural broke silence regarding his recent picture with reknowned (now UK-based) drug kingpin Manish ‘Mani’ Thakur. Addressing the media during the roadshow with former MP Sushil Rinku, he said that his photo is now going viral just a day after announcing his entry to BJP and as to why that is.

He said addressing the media, “ask the AAP Cabinet Minister Balkar singh about his supporter, Manish Thakur.” “Also ask what was Manish doing during the Dhuri by-elections in 2022” he went on to say.

He further said that he will provide his full support to the government should his need arises. If his family or his reputation is defamed like this, then he will take legal action, he went on to say.

Former Jalandhar MP Sushil Rinku and former MLA Sheetal Angural joined BJP yesterday in a major blow to Aam Aadmi Party. Sushil Rinku had won the Jalandhar by-elections following Santokh Singh Chowdhary’s death on AAP ticket, after leaving Congress. Before joining the BJP, both Sushil Rinku and Sheetal Angural met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.

Recently, BJP had announced its decision to contest the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab solo. Hence inclusion of Rinku and Angural provides them with strong contendors for the contest in Punjab on June 1. Notably, BJP is yet to release the list of candidates who will be fielded from Punjab to fight the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

On Tuesday, BJP Punjab unit chief Sunil Jakhar announced that the saffron party will fight the general Elections 2024 solo in Punjab. The announcement by Jakhar came after alliance talks between the BJP and SAD failed to reach to a consensus over the conflict of Principles.
