In a major development, the efforts by Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli have recently stopped a protest, which was supposed to be conducted by the shopkeepers of Phagwara Gate.

According to the reports, the protest was planned against the Punjab Government and Powercom and was scheduled for July 7, 2025, Monday. This above-mentioned protest was organized by Baljit Singh Ahluwalia and Amit Sehgal, the heads of the electronic market.

The major complaint by the shopkeepers was reduced or low supply of electricity, with less voltage which creates problems for the customers to check the appliance before buying.

According to the reports and statements by the shopkeepers who were supported to participate in the march, they presented their concerns in front of the department multiple times, but it was not addressed, and because of this, they decided to plan a protest.

However, before the protest began, Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli reached the location and made sure that their demands and needs were heard and addressed properly, as well as on time. He contacted the Electricity Department telephonically, informed them about the issue, and asked to resolve it as soon as possible.

Following this, the protest was called out.
