Unemployed teachers have also climbed at a water tank. Two members of the unemployed BEd and TET pass teachers organization have sat on the tank carrying the banner. They demanded that the Punjab government should soon issue a notification to fill 9000 posts lying vacant in government schools. They added that due to the delay children are not able to study properly. The vacant posts are for teachers of Punjabi, Hindi and social education.

As soon as the unemployed teachers climbed on the tank, people started gathering with them. When they were asked to step down from the tank, they replied that until the government does not issue an advertisement for new recruitment, teachers would not step down.
