In Jalandhar, Punjab, a major accident was averted on Monday. The high tension cable malfunctioned on the Punjab Police bus while it was passing through the posh area of Model Town. Explosions started inside the high-tension cable as soon as it broke. Police personnel on the bus immediately jumped off the bus and saved their lives, while the driver remained on the bus, which was later taken out by the people.

The incident happened while the recently recruited jawans—including female constables—were on duty. As the bus approached Shivani Park in Model Town, a heavy, high-tension electric cable suddenly fell on the vehicle. The moment the rope fell, the explosions began.

Witnesses reported that the jawans jumped out of the bus as soon as the explosion began, but the driver remained inside. When the incident happened, there were 25 female constables and the remaining male constables on the bus.

The driver of the bus was pulled out with great difficulty by the local shopkeepers and people. People said that the strings started banging as soon as the bus driver was taken. The explosions continued for a long time. Following that, people immediately informed the electricity department's personnel. They were informed that one of their poles had broken, causing a high-tension wire to fall onto a police vehicle.

The officers of the department also reached the spot with their entire technical team. The power supply was first turned off by the officials from behind. After then, the power department's employees cut and removed the high tension cable that had become tangled up on the police department's bus. When this accident happened, there was panic in the market. Many soldiers on the bus were also scared.
