The Electricity Department of Jalandhar has announced that certain regions of Jalandhar will witness a power cut on June 4, 2025, Tuesday. The reason cited behind the electricity shutdown is the maintenance of the power supply unit, which will notably impact two major 11KV feeders - situated at Mandi Road Feeder and Central Mill Feeder.
According to the official notice from the electricity department, certain regions of the city will not have electricity for five hours, i.e., between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. However, the timing may vary according to the work progress.
It is to be noted that the power cuts will be reported in 18 localities of the city, including Bhagat Singh Chowk, Indraprastha Mohalla, etc.
Listwise division of the areas which will face electricity shut down -
According to the list of areas provided by the electricity department, the 11KV Mandi Road Feeder will cause power cuts in areas - Santoshi Nagar, Qazi Mandi, Mandi Road, Rishi Nagar, Partap Road, Bhagat Singh Chowk, B.K.B, Railway Road, and Inderprasth Mohalla.
Whereas the 11 KV Central Mill Feeder will result in electricity cuts in areas including Dhan Mohalla, Qilla Mohalla, Kaji Mohalla, Khingra Gate, Panj Peer Bazar, Attari Bazar, Shivrajgarh, Bashirpura, and Adda Hoshiarpur.
The Power Department has expressed concern and regret for the inconvenience that will be caused due to the disturbance in the power supply during the time of heat wave and intense heat but also highlighted that maintenance is also important.
