Punjab and other parts of North India have been witnessing sweltering heat for the past many days. IMD's prediction of possible rainfall in the region has gone wrong multiple times. Jalandhar too has been witnessing scorching heat for the past many days. The mercury in the region is continuously touching and even breaking the 40°C mark. As a result, True Scoop on Thursday tried to draw a parallel between Jalandhar and America's Death Valley in terms of maximum daytime temperature. During this, it was found that Jalandhar is registering a higher temperature than Death Valley.
Jalandhar turns hotter than Death Valley
As per the Apple Weather App, Jalandhar on Thursday, i.e., May 23, 2025, will witness a maximum temperature of 39°C. On the other hand, America's Death Valley's maximum temperature is also expected to reach 38°C on Friday. It holds the record for the highest air temperature ever recorded globally, 56.7°C, at Greenland Ranch (now Furnace Creek) on July 10, 1913.
