Heart-wrenching news has surfaced from Jalandhar where a woman in a ‘naked state’ created a ruckus outside a restaurant. Talking about the scenario where big promises related to women’s empowerment are made, the news coming to the fore is shameful.
Reportedly, a woman was spotted in a ‘naked state’ outside a restaurant in Jalandhar after which she went inside it and started abusing the staff and owner of the restaurant. Post this, she was thrown out by the staff. The shocking fact is that such a serious incident took place in the city but no action was taken up by the police. The incident took place in a restaurant in the Nandan area, where many people were spectators to the incident but no one came forward to sort the issue out or provide any kind of help.
On being asked about the whole incident, the witnesses refused to give any sort of statement, just one person came forward and informed about the whole incident. He alleged that the woman was not stable, she was fully dressed up when she came then suddenly, she entered the restaurant after which the whole staff and even the owner were abused by her. Later, she tore the clothes and started creating a ruckus because of which she was thrown out. Post this, she started walking toward the flyover in the same state.
At the time when police were being questioned on the matter, the SHO stated “I came to know about the incident after which 2 female constables were sent to the scene but the lady was not found.” On being asked about the complaint registered by the owner of the restaurant, the SHO refused to give any statement on the same.
Human Rights Chairman, Jaswinder Kaur condemned the whole issue and said that the situation was not handled properly. She said that the police should have made efforts to find out the woman and send her to a mental health counselor. She further added that it was careless on the side of the police to have left this matter unresolved. The activist has further demanded legal action against the owner of the restaurant.
Till now, no proper information has been received on what happened inside the restaurant to judge who is at fault.
