A dead body of a person was found lying near the Leather Complex in Jalandhar, Punjab on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Ankur Kumar, resident of Bastian. According to reports, the deceased’s neck had been attacked with some sharp object. As soon as the information was received, the police of Basti Bawa Khel police station reached the spot for investigation. Police have initiated action to register a murder case.
According to the information, a passerby saw a dead body lying near the dirty drain of the Leather Complex at around 9:15 am. After this, information about the matter was given to the police control room. Police found a lot of blood scattered around the crime scene.
SHO Rajesh Kumar Thakur of Police Station Basti Bawa Khel said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the body of the said youth was murdered and thrown there. The police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem.
The youth has been identified as Ankur, resident of Bastian, whose family was informed about the matter. The family reached the crime scene and was inconsolable.
