The Jalandhar Police has solved the blind murder case of a teenage youth with the arrest of one perpetrator of the crime. Police had recovered a dead body of a youth near the Pankaj Choudhary Factory’s dirty Drain, Leather complex on the morning of January 17. The deceased was identified as Ankul, originally from Hardoi district of UP but residing in New Rajan Nagar in Jalandhar at the time of death.
17-year-old Ankul, who was missing since Tuesday night, was found brutally murdered near the drain in Basti Peerdad. Severe wounds were found on the back of his head and neck. After scouring the CCTV footage of the area, the police managed to identify 5 suspects in the case. They have been identified as Lucky, Rahul Malli, Sahil, Honey Verma and Anurag. According to reports, Ankul was at odds with them, and Lucky had conspired with his associates to murder Ankul. He texted him to come to the scene of the crime. According to evidence, he was jumped by the murderer from behind and did not have a chance to even defend himself.
The police arrested Anurag over murder charges late last night. Upon interrogation, he revealed that there was a dispute over a girl’s affection, which led to the murder.
Giving his statement to the police, Vimlesh Kumar, 45, informed that his family is originally from a village in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, but were residing in New Rajan Nagar in Jalandhar. He lives with his son, 17-year-old Ankul (deceased), 12-year-old daughter Anita, and wife Vanita. He informs that Ankul had studied till 10th grade. Ankul had informed Vimlesh that he had received a message from Lucky, with whom he had prior disputes. On the basis of this information, the police had launched the probe into the matter.
The mother arrived at the crime on the crime scene and was inconsolable over the loss of her child. She informs that her son had left at around 6:30 in the evening after receiving Lucky’s message. She tried to call him late at night but couldn’t reach him. She had assumed that he had stayed at his friend’s house. But later was informed by her sister that Ankul’s dead body has been found near the canal.
The Commissioner informs that an FIR was registered on the statement of the victim’s father Vimlesh Kumar. During the investigations, old rivalries and disputes were traced as the primary cause of the murder. He said that based on statement of the father of deceased, the Police had identified Rahul, Sahil, Lucky, Honey Verma and Anurag as main suspects of the murder. Teams of Police were constituted for nabbing the culprits after which accused Anurag son of Pardeep Mishra, originally from UP, has been arrested by the Police. SHO Rajesh Thakur of Basti Bawa Khel police station said that the murderers have been traced and a raid is underway to search for them.
