Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli hailed the Punjab government’s newly launched “EZ Jamabandi” service as a revolutionary step towards eliminating corruption from the state’s revenue department.

Kohli stated that this digital initiative will bring major relief to the public by ending the need to visit government offices for tasks like land registration, property transfers (mutations), and obtaining land records (fard). “Now, citizens can access these services with a single click from their mobile phones. All services are available through the EZ Jamabandi website or by calling the helpline number 1076,” he said.

He explained that the digital land records will carry verified digital signatures and QR codes, enabling instant authentication of land records by scanning the code.

“Until now, people had to wait for months to get their land mutations processed. But now, neither patwaris will be able to delay the process nor will there be any need for bribes. The entire system has been made transparent, and all mutations will be completed within 30 days,” Kohli added.

He also highlighted that there is no longer a need for physical paperwork or repeated visits to offices for filing reports. “As soon as a case is filed, it will automatically be transferred digitally from the patwari to the tehsildar, and the applicant will receive instant updates via WhatsApp.”

Kohli further said that errors in land records, such as incorrect names, can now be corrected online without relying on the discretion of tehsildars or having to physically visit government offices.

Explaining another key feature, he shared that landowners can now subscribe to their land records through the government website by paying an annual fee of ₹500 per khewat. “This will enable them to monitor and protect their land digitally from anywhere in the world. If any tampering with subscribed records is attempted, the landowner will receive an instant alert via WhatsApp or email. They can then raise an online objection, which will go directly to the concerned revenue official.”

Concluding, Nitin Kohli thanked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for launching the historic EZ Jamabandi service, calling it a big leap toward transparent governance and citizen empowerment.
