Founder of Amazon, Bezos expressed his passionate project ‘Blue Origin’ at a press event

New Delhi: Founder of Amazon and richest person of the world seldom organizes press events. Although he did two days back and made sure that the event to be well pondered by the people. In the press event he expressed his passionate project ‘Blue Origin’ and a new lunar lander that he unveiled.

The moon lander, called Blue Moon, was described by Bezos as an “incredible vehicle and it going to the moon.” He further added, “It time to go back to the moon, this time to stay.”   

As per Bezos, Blue Origin wants to develop an infrastructure for space. The idea, as per Bezos, he aims to give millions of people an opportunity for space travel.

The vehicle ‘Blue Moon’ has been getting developed from past three years. Bezos has set the deadline for taking travellers to moon by 2024. "I love Vice President Pence's 2024 lunar landing goal," Bezos said, adding that Blue Origin can meet that timeline "because we started this three years ago."

The space has been of interest for a few other billionaires as well. Tesla CEO Elon Musk owns a company called SpaceX that has ambitious plans for space travel among other things. Another billionaire who has been working on space tourism is UK-based Richard Branson with his company Virgin Galactic 

During the press event, Bezos said, “What I’m laying out here today is obviously a multi generation vision. This is not going to get done by any one generation. One of the things that we have to do is inspire those future generations.” 

 

However, the costs of staying and travelling to moon has not been revealed yet. The price is expected to be far from the reach of middle class.
