Kangana Ranaut summoned by Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court on March 1 in Javed Akhtar's criminal defamation case

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is once again seen embroiled in a legal dispute. A summon has been issued to the actress by the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Mumbai in the defamation case of lyricist Javed Akhtar. In this, the actress has been asked to go to the Juhu police station and cooperate in the investigation. Javed Akhtar had filed a criminal complaint against Kangana in November 2020.

In the same case, in December 2020, the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court directed the Juhu police to investigate a defamation complaint filed by Akhtar against Kangana Ranaut. After an investigation in the same case, the Juhu police team submitted a report to the court on Monday (February 1). It states that further investigation is needed on the complaint of the complainant (Javed Akhtar). Magistrate RR Khan has issued summons against the actress after seeing the report. Now the next hearing of this case will be on 1 March.

Jay Kumar Bhardwaj, the advocate for lyricist Javed Akhtar, said on Monday, "Last month, a summon was issued by the Mumbai Police to record the statement of the actress, but she did not appear nor did any response came from her.

Javed Akhtar accuses Kangana that the actress has falsely dragged his name in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput and in an interview, Kangana had also alleged that Akhtar threatened her to remain silent during her controversy with Hrithik Roshan.
